Hungry Howies has a $5.99 Mix and Match Deal. You can choose from a select group of items and get any two for $5.99 each.
The offerings in the pizza area are somewhat limited. As part of the $5.99 Mix and Match Deal, you can get a medium cheese pizza, original or thin crust. Toppings are at an additional cost.
The selections widen out with seven great looking 8 inch wraps, including steak, Italian, Ham and Cheese, Turkey Club, veggie.
Good, too, is the salad selection with six to choose from, like antipasto (ham, salami, mozzarella, tomato, red onion, black olive & pepperoncini peppers over lettuce mix. Dressing on the side.), Greek, chef and garden.
Finally, one of your $5.99 choices could be the Howie chocolate chip cookie. (Mother would not approve. Eat your salad.)
Not too bad for an $11.98 lunch today. There are three Hungry Howie’s in the Greater Grand Strand:
There’s a rumor going ‘round that there’s a Del Taco moving into the old Hardees on 544 by Coastal Carolina University.
CheapEatsMyrtleBeach has attempted to confirm the rumor with Del Taco and is awaiting a reply.
So far, there is only one Del Taco in South Carolina, on Harbison Boulevard in Columbia. But that’s a good sign. At least they’re already in the state. Del Taco is famous for, not surprisingly, tacos but also has burritos and other food. What’s really noteworthy is their dollar value meal selection.
For example, you can get a Value Taco with seasoned beef, crisp shredded lettuce, freshly grated cheddar cheese in a crunchy corn shell or warm flour tortilla for a single dollar.
Here’s link to the entire value meal section. Is that impressive or what?
Down along the Grand Strand, temperatures this time of year don’t always feel like Fall. Last year, there were 4 days in the high 90s and 16 in the 80s in September so sometimes it’s hard to get into “the falling leaves and sweaters” mood.
Here’s some help from Dairy Queen. Starting today, you can get all of their fall treats, even if you’re still in a t-shirt and flip flops.
Pecan Pie Blizzard Treat: Pecans, brown sugar pie pieces and caramel blended with DQ soft serve.
Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat: Real pumpkin pie pieces with whipped topping and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
Brownie Blizzard Treat: Brownies, choco chunks and cocoa fudge filled with fudge.
And what about the winter menu? How about Vick’s Vapo Rub treats. Or DQ soft serve with piece of Halls Menthol cough drops? Just an idea. You can send any royalty checks to CheapEatsMyrtleBeach.com.
The Fall Blizzard Menu is available starting today, September 8, for a limited time only. Locations are as follows: 2103 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach; 101 Orchard Dr, Myrtle Beach and 10391 Ocean Hwy in Myrtle Beach.
Einstein Bros Bagels, where they work absolute magic on the already wonderful bagel, has a new bagel to offer. It’s the Bacon & Queso Egg Sandwich. The BQESfeatures seasoned cage-free eggs topped with their new signature queso and Applewood smoked bacon on a choice of fresh baked bagel.
The new queso features double-whipped Jalapeno Salsa Shmear and spicy green chiles for a kick of heat “that will wake up your tastebuds.”
Einstein Bros. Bagels’ says their new Bacon & Queso Egg Sandwich is available at participating locations but NOT those inside colleges.
So guess where the only Einstein Bros Bagels is in the Greater Grand Strand? Yup. 125 Chanticleer Drive West in Conway which puts them right in the middle of Coastal Carolina University.
OK. So maybe there’s no BQES there. But there should be plenty of other options. See pictures, below.
Dominos continues its campaign against food delivery services like DoorDash. They say that there are too many charges. “Other food delivery apps” they say, “tack on fees that can really increase the price of your order and hurt local restaurants.”
In an effort to get you to see the light and convince you to order direct from Dominos, they’re giving away $50,000,000 worth of free food. Order online and you could get anything from a free pizza to chicken to lava cakes and more.
The promotion runs through Nov. 21, 2021 and you must order online. Freebies will be awarded to one in fourteen delivery orders. You can also register to win free food without making a purchase by clicking on this link:
Carrabbas has introduced a new dish, The Johnny Trio.
Named after one of the founders of the restaurant, Johnny Carrabba, it features three signature recipes on one plate: Tuscan-Grilled Sirloin Marsala, Chicken Bryan and Mezzaluna. The sirloin marsala is cooked at the wood burning grill to enhance its taste. The pasta and sauce is fresh made every day.
There’s a wide range of customizations and substitutions available.
The 7 ounce sirloin is $24.45, the 10 ounce $25.99 and the 9 ounce filet, $34.99.
(No offense but if I spent that much on the whole family, let alone one plate, I would get faint. And the price doesn’t even include a two liter bottle of Pepsi.)
